KEBUN KOMUNITI USJ 7

In this project, we were ask to create a community center for USJ 7's community. 

The design concept is to design spaces through programs which each of the space has distinctive functions in cluster organization. Spaces surrounding a center courtyard which acts as gathering space. Facade inspired by the form of Spathodea flower (used as concept in master plan).

 

Main structures for the spaces is made up of timber column and beams. Facade constructed using glulam timber truss which mimics the form of flower petals protecting the flower bud. The trusses aids in creating green facade and also for the purpose of harvest rainwater for

plant watering uses.

This structure aims to create connectivity between the users, evokes the sense of community. Other than creating sense of community, structure tends to empower women with different programs, help them to learn new skills so that they are able to earn extra incomes, enhancing self-reliant.
